Được ví như Oscar của điện ảnh hay Grammy của âm nhạc, sao Michelin là một “giải thưởng” quan trọng trong làng ẩm thực thế giới dành cho các khách sạn và nhà hàng. Sao Michelin thực chất là biểu tượng để đánh giá chất lượng của một nhà hàng nhiều hơn nhưng sau này có thêm mảng khách sạn. Hàng năm, các nhà hàng nhận được sao Michelin sẽ được vinh danh trong cuốn cẩm nang ẩm thực hàng đầu thế giới – The Michelin Guide – ra đời từ năm 1900.
